Our Services - Before School, After School and Holiday Care

 

Expect More from our Services:

Whilst safety, well-being and general happiness of the children in our care is of upmost importance, for Sherpa Kids this is the starting point for our services of before school, after school and holiday care and not the sole end in itself. If we are to add value to your efforts in running your school and to your parent community, then we must offer more than a “baby-sitting” service.

Our theme for the week is explored each day via planned, fun activities that are aligned with My Time Our Place as follows:

  • Monday: Arts and Crafts
  • Tuesday: Music and Drama
  • Wednesday: Sport and Games
  • Thursday: Cooking and Technology
  • Friday: Fun Activities

The school day is a long one, especially for children attending before and/or after school, so finding the right balance between planned and spontaneous activity is key.

A ‘typical’ After School Care daily routine week is as follows:

  • Roll call, recharge with light lunch and free play
  • Supervised Homework
  • Daily Structured Themed Activity 
  • Outside play (if weather/light permits)
  • Tidy up, quiet time

Partnering with Sherpa Kids:  No school is too small for Sherpa Kids

We meet with you and governing councils if required to meticulously understand school and community requirements.

We work with you to design a tailor purpose made programme that meets the school's unique needs. We share what has worked for others and the reasons why.

We implement a transition plan, engage and communicate with families and existing staff to gently manage via total collaboration a fresh innovative resourceful new programme with minimum of fuss. True Sherpa Style!

Furthermore, at Sherpa Kids we use proven management systems to operate the business side efficiently, thus removing ALL day-to-day administrative responsibilities from teaching and school office staff. This leaves you and your team to focus on your work, safe in the knowledge that we are completely on top of ours.

We welcome and actively encourage your input.  Our programmes work best when there are open lines of communication between us the school, the children and their parents.

Sherpa Kids services are run by owner-operators based in the school’s local community. Each partner, carefully selected against rigorous criteria with comprehensive training and come from a variety of business and educational backgrounds. All share a common driving passion for children and a commitment to create the best possible environment in which they can flourish with your community.

Staff with skill and practical knowledge, not just qualifications:

International Best Practice dictate the required level of staffing that we and all providers must meet, including staff-to-children ratios and qualified-to-unqualified staff ratios. Qualifications are important but, based upon years of hands-on experience of the unique challenges presented by the before and after school environment, Sherpa Kids recognise the need to supplement these requirements with extensive training to ALL our staff.
